Drupal license plate
A car has been spotted with a Drupal license plate that reads 'Drupal star'.
So who's car is it? Take a guess in the comments.
I know the answer and will share it in the comments later today. :)
Dries is the founder and project lead of Drupal and co-founder of Acquia and Mollom.

But I don't know the owner ;-)
And it seems that this one is not the only one: http://www.designvsdevelop.com/ready-for-a-change/
Cheers
September 18, 2009 - 09:16I don't know who this is from but this proves again that sometimes reality beats fiction.
September 18, 2009 - 09:21Actually I have no idea :)
September 18, 2009 - 09:29But I have a question..Why does it seem like there's a person standing on his hands in the reflection? :D
I'm pretty sure the owner doesn't live south of Los Angeles. By excluding a couple more regions we should be able to figure it out.
September 18, 2009 - 09:39Wow! A brand new BMW M5 :-O Lucky Drupaler :)
September 18, 2009 - 09:45I know that Ted "m3avrck" Serbinski is into BMW M3s so maybe this one is his too?
In any case: awesome! :)
September 18, 2009 - 09:54Yours?
September 18, 2009 - 09:55Amazon?
September 18, 2009 - 10:18My guess would be 'Amazon' too.
September 18, 2009 - 10:37It is not Amazon's car.
September 18, 2009 - 10:44Could it be Jay's car? :)
September 18, 2009 - 10:49Give us a clue.
Are they from California?
September 18, 2009 - 11:44Are they a member of the Drupalcon SF committee? http://drupalconsf2010.org/about
Are they a well known community member?
The best clue so far has been http://www.flickr.com/photos/8925642@N03/3830371676/ -- it gives you an idea of where the person is based.
September 18, 2009 - 11:55It certainly belongs to Mr. Druplicon. Just check his hand-print around the BMW logo on this picture :)

Is it merlinofchaos's? If I'm not mistaken, he lives in CA.
September 18, 2009 - 12:41mine? :)
September 18, 2009 - 13:41No idea whose car it is, but it looks very ecologically scarring.
September 18, 2009 - 13:58Not the only one with a Drupal license plate. Local Drupal man Simon Hobbs has one too http://twitpic.com/7v8hi
September 18, 2009 - 14:32Proving the report that Drupalers get paid more. You don't see Wordpressers rollin' in M5s!
September 18, 2009 - 14:34Hrm, the photo's appear to be by someone in LA, but they are also tagged DrupalCampLA 09.
DrupalCampLA 09 was held in Orange County where an M-series is a fairly common car, although this is an M5 which would be fairly rare even there.
There is also the possibility that someone drove this some distance to get to DrupalCampLA. Maybe someone that has a Habit of Working somewhere in the Sacramento area?
September 18, 2009 - 15:22Cary Gordon
September 18, 2009 - 15:27Shawn is right! It is Cary Gordon's (event organizer at the Drupal Association).
September 18, 2009 - 16:00I'm Mvious!
September 18, 2009 - 16:28///M FTW!!!
September 18, 2009 - 17:00Sweet. Cary Gordon has taste. Nice car, even nicer licence plate.
September 18, 2009 - 17:08I don't have a car.
I read Our Common Future in 1987, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Our_Common_Future, and made the decision to avoid owning a car and house for over 20 years now.
But if I did get have a car, Cary's M5 is a sweet sweet ride. He provided an excellent airport shuttle service for Drupalcamp Los Angeles.

Cool, too bad this isn't allowed in The Netherlands (old pic at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bertboerland/3501399551/)
September 18, 2009 - 19:21Is this a fair use of the trademark of Drupal? Has Cary asked for that? ;-)
September 19, 2009 - 01:07Always wondered what my Drupal Association membership fees are used for. Now I know. (Kidding)
September 20, 2009 - 08:59@nightS: because the top of the tail is concave so the reflection is inverted as yours would be if you stood some distance from a magnifying mirror; you can also see upright feet on the convex bumper.
By the way this doesn't so much look like a car that's been "spotted in the wild" as a car that is parked in a suburban home garage.
September 20, 2009 - 17:07I have the best Drupal plate - http://yfrog.com/h0z7ruej - cause d7 rocks!
