Drupal sites
MTV using Drupal
MTV UK is now using Drupal! According to the official press release, the new Drupal-based MTV UK website will continue to host news and information for their broadcast channels.
The interesting part is the fact that the new website will act as the front-end for MTV Flux, a new social networking website that lets viewers interact with MTV and each other. Angel Gambino, VP Commercial Strategy & Digital Media, MTV Networks UK & Ireland explains:
"Our users now have the ability to create and upload content to mtvflux.co.uk that will also be showcased on the broadcast channel. Drupal’s social networking capabilities make it a good match for our local development team’s needs and the software’s extensibility has allowed the creation of modules to interact with our on-air systems as well as SMS mobile and Flash-based interactive systems."
NATO using Drupal
Recently training was conducted for participants representing a number of NATO's Partnership for Peace (PfP) Training Centers.
Participants were led through a set of scenario driven exercises using a system based on Drupal and XMPP. The scenario encouraged participants to "meet" online (even though they were sitting across the room from each other) and coordinate events and information in "semi public and private spaces". The group also modeled and simulated how to find subject matter experts using the expertise keywords, profiles, tagging, and search.
Interesting to see how social software tools (i.e. Drupal) are used by institutions such as NATO, and glad to see that we help make the world a better place ...

NASA using Drupal
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is using Drupal for their Academy of Program / Project and Engineering Leadership website (APPEL). Sweet!
VRT using Drupal
The Flemish Radio- and Television Network (VRT) uses Drupal for 16+, a community website to accompany one of the television programs they broadcast. The website allows people to upload and share pictures, music and video. Belgian newspaper De Standaard described 16+ as the "Flemish YouTube". Belgian newspaper De Morgen refers to it as being an "online community".

NowPublic launches new website
NowPublic launched their new website today! Think of NowPublic as a combination of Slashdot, Digg and Flickr (albeit not as popular yet). Contributors share the news they read as well as original content that they write, creating a popularity index or "best of the news" which readers can then view by the subjects and locations that interest them. In addition, members can also contribute to any story by adding audio, video, and photos. Of course, they are using Drupal.
(Disclosure: I am an advisor to NowPublic.)
DivX
The company behind DivX, one of the world's most popular video technologies, is using Drupal at http://labs.divx.com/.
