What is your motivation for being a member of the Drupal Association?:
I want to give back to the community that currently runs my personal website, my small businesses' website and my girlfriend's professional website.
What are the primary goals you would like to work on?:
I would like to be the Treasurer. Although I enjoy programming as well, I feel my skills (and my time available) would be more valuable in a financial capacity. From a technical perspective I would like Drupal to the fastest, most stable and easiest to use CMS out there (I think the first two are pretty much there, which is why I use it). From a financial stand point I would like the Drupal Association to be fiscally solvent with a healthy cash flow and an appropriate cash reserve.
But, if Dries Knapen is running, vote for him.
What strategy will you employ in order to accomplish said goals?:
I'm a fiscal conservative. I would bring my love of numbers and frugal-ness to help Drupal achieve its goals. I also love charts and graphs.
What yearly budget would you need in order to accomplish said goals?:
I would only need money if I needed to physically produce financial reports, or if I was required to buy proprietary accounting software (doubtful, I hope!).
What strengths/experience you have to help you accomplish the goals?:
I've been a bookkeeper. I've produced tax returns for a small limited partnership and I currently produce financial statements for a business I'm a co-owner of. I have to admit I'm more familiar with U.S. accounting standards than, er, Belgian ones. I'm also a co-owner in a worker-owned cooperative that is part of an "Association" of cooperatives and am familiar with the ensuing democratic methods.
How long have you been using Drupal, and how'd you get your start?:
I started using Drupal a few years ago when it finally became easier to modify a CMS than to "roll my own." I got started by being tired or "rolling my own." Drupal seemed to have the performance and flexibility I needed. I currently run my own personal site, my girlfriend's professional site and my own business' website using Drupal.
Have you made existing community contributions, and if so, what?:
I made my mp3 streaming program, Zina (http://www.pancake.org/zina) into a Drupal 4.x module. I've writing a few other open source programs as well.
How much time can you invest in your Drupal Association work?:

I'd like to point out that
I'd like to point out that the treasuere has a 2-year term and is not elected this year.
Whoops...
Thanks for letting me know...
board
Are you still applying for board membership? If so what role would you like to take?
Additionally...
In Dries's association org chart wishlist post, he outlines a non-board position of assistant to the treasurer. Is this something you have an interest in? There are a distinct lack of people in the current group of Permanent Members with book-keeping experience (or at least that's my perception), so I think it would be valuable to have you on the team, if you're interested.
