What is your motivation for being a member of the Drupal Association?:
I have been PHP/MySQL developer since 1999. After working on few Content Management Systems (CMS), i came across Drupal in mid-2005. Since then i have been actively involved into Drupal based website development. Successfully completed many large websites. Now, with Drupal association, i feel, i can contribute to the CMS in a larger and responsibliy.
What are the primary goals you would like to work on?:
My goal is to Increase awareness of Drupal among web-developers in India (and globally) by organising workshops, trianing sessions, etc.
In the next 5 years, I expect Drupal Association will have a very strong Drupal Developer base in India actively contributing to Drupal projects, fixing bugs, etc.
What strategy will you employ in order to accomplish said goals?:
I propose to organise events / seminars in association with colleges / schools for promoting Drupal. Being in contact with top JCI India dignitaries, i can reach Corporate / Industrial clients for promoting Drupal at corporate level
What yearly budget would you need in order to accomplish said goals?:
Right now i dont have any defined budget, but i feel with support from local organization, my goals can be achieved.
What strengths/experience you have to help you accomplish the goals?:
1) Being a PHP/MySQL Developer and working on Drupal since more than 2 years, puts me in a position to directly guide other Drupal Developers through Training, and work shops.
2) Being associated with JCI, i will be able to reach a wider section of society (companies, individuals, NGOs) for promiting Drupal.
How long have you been using Drupal, and how'd you get your start?:
I have been using drupal for past two and half years. I started looking for a tool for blogging and creating pages. Wordpress/Nucleus CMS was chosen by first look, but later on when i faced several common problems, i started looking again for some other CMS. Finally came across Drupal, that gave me the required flexibility of creating pages, placing items as blocks, and vey-easy-to-write module system.
Have you made existing community contributions, and if so, what?:
1) Started Nagpur Linux User's Group 5 years ago, and has been actively spreading Linux since then.
2) Associated with JCI Nagpur Green city since 2005. Have participated in several Zone level programs. Recently launched several projects in associated with JCI Nagpur Green city.
3) Recently launched eDrupal.com, an Indian Drupal Community
4) Helped many users on drupal.org by providing supports / helps through forums
5) Minor contribution in Weather module (on drupal)
6) Contribution in CCK Address module to add Indian states, and validations (on drupal)
How much time can you invest in your Drupal Association work?:

Comments
Board?
Is it safe to assume that your checking of "Board" was not intentional? If it was intentional, what position are you after? Your application doesn't seem to really fit with any.
I kind of second what David says...
"But i will be helping people around the globe by actively participating on Drupal.org forums and development teams of drupal modules."
But you're already helping on the forums (and thanks for that! :D) and module development is out of scope in a Drupal Association context. So I'm left with some confusion as to what your goals are beyond increasing Drupal's exposure in India which, while a good goal, isn't exactly an Association-related goal, since we are more concerned with over-arching, global issues than local ones, at least at this stage.
seems incomplete
As you know, the association has little to do with programming, but your motivation for running is cited around being an experienced programmer. Has something else triggered your interest in becoming a member?
Much of your application is focused around India - please explain how you would also help in other countries and continents.
What position are you running for? It appears to be as an event organizer. Do you have event organizing experience or connections at any facilities who organize events? Which events?
Which corporate and industrial clients have you worked with on sponsorships? What is a Zone level program and JCI and how does your association with them help the association?
Answers
I understand that Association has little to to with programming, but i feel, that being a strong experience in programming ( and leadership, since i am running my own company specializing in Drupal based website development), i can build a strong community of Drupal Developers. All these experience will definitely help reaching every developer and popularizing Drupal, by conducting training sessions, seminars, and participating in national level events such as FOSS.in in Bangalore.
-> Much of your application is focused around India - please explain how you would also help in other countries and continents.
Yes, my entire focus is in India only.
But i will be helping people around the globe by actively participating on Drupal.org forums and development teams of drupal modules.
-> What position are you running for? It appears to be as an event organizer. Do you have event organizing experience or connections at any facilities who organize events? Which events?
Yes, i am capable of organizing events, through agencies that i worked with for many events in Nagpur (Maharashtra, India) and surrounding areas.
-> Which corporate and industrial clients have you worked with on sponsorships? What is a Zone level program and JCI and how does your association with them help the association?
Through JCI, i have worked with many industrial clients fron Nagpur. JCI is an organisation of Young Leaders & Entrepreneurs - this means i get oppurtunity to reach young leaders throughout India (and also globally). I strongly feel that this association will benefit JCI in a beneficial way.
Quite frankly, I'm turned
Quite frankly, I'm turned off by you saying the Drupal Association "will benefit JCI in a beneficial way." You can participate in the drupal.org forums and contribute modules without being a member of the association, and I and others would appreciate you doing so. Since the Drupal Association is a global organization, I think you really need to identify how you are useful to the association outside just India.
