The moment anyone says "quantum physics tells us ..." my BS alarm goes off, and I have to assume that they are talking rubbish. Even if their immediate point is close to being true (yes, probability is key in QM), this is generally irrelevant to the next point. It doesn't have anything to do with the statement that the 5th dimension contains "probable futures" any more than a blank piece of paper contains "probable lines".
@Jim, The point about the QM is to draw an analogy and explain why (or how) we can only perceive one value in the fifth dimension (i.e. a singular future). Whether this is how QM really works I have no idea, but with respect to the folk understanding of QM I think it is a good visualization analogy.
Dries, have you read the book? I have heard different opinions about it, but none from anybody I personally know and trust.
January 29, 2009 - 11:11I have read the booklet, but it has been 6 years ago or so. I found it to be entertaining and mind-boggling.
January 29, 2009 - 12:01I guess it is time I drop by and pillage your library then.
January 29, 2009 - 15:38What's the point?
